Drain Slope Calculator (1/4 per Foot)

    Standard pipe slope requirements chart

Under the IPC, horizontal drains 2-1/2 inches and smaller need 1/4 inch per foot (2%), 3-inch through 6-inch pipe may use 1/8 inch per foot (1%), and 8-inch and larger may use 1/16 inch per foot — all provided the design keeps at least a 2 ft/s scouring velocity. The UPC is generally stricter, so check your adopted code and AHJ; the calculator applies the correct minimum for your pipe size.
