    Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC)

    A form of internal pipe corrosion accelerated by bacteria that form biofilms in wet-pipe sprinkler systems. Produces tubercles and pitting that can block sprinkler heads and cause pinhole leaks. Detected during 5-year internal inspections.
