Refrigeration Machinery Room
A dedicated, ventilated room required by ASHRAE 15 when a system exceeds the refrigerant quantity limit for an occupancy. It isolates the equipment, contains leaks, and houses detection and emergency ventilation.
Safety note
Machinery rooms require a refrigerant detector, mechanical exhaust ventilation, and an outside-the-room emergency switch.
