    Residential Boiler

A residential heating system that heats water or generates steam for distribution through radiators or baseboard heaters. Boilers use gas, oil, or electricity to produce heat and circulate it through a closed hydronic loop. Typical residential sizes range from 50,000 to 200,000 BTU (British Thermal Units) depending on home size. Operating pressures are commonly 12-20 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) for hot-water systems and higher for steam systems.

    Common symptoms

    • No heat
    • Low pressure
    • Unusual noises
    • Leaking around boiler

    Common repairs

    • Pressure relief valve replacement
    • Circulator pump replacement
    • Expansion tank service
    • Burner cleaning

    Safety note

🔥 SAFETY: Boilers operate at high temperatures and pressures. Turn off fuel and power before service. Pressure relief valves must be functional and never blocked. Professional service recommended.
