    Steps

    01

    Inspect Tank Components

    • Remove lid
    • Observe handle, chain, flapper, fill valve
    • Note water level mark
    Continue Gate:Faulty part identified?

    Adjust Chain & Handle

    • Set 1/2 in slack in chain
    • Tighten handle nut (reverse thread on some)

    Replace Flapper (if warped)

    • Turn off supply
    • Drain tank
    • Swap flapper; reconnect chain
    Continue Gate:Seal sits flat and centered?

    Set Fill Level

    • Adjust float or fill valve screw
    • Target 1/2–1 in below overflow
    Continue Gate:Level stable and correct?

    Test Flush

    • Open supply
    • Flush multiple times
    • Verify full siphon and stop-fill
    Continue Gate:No running; strong flush?
