    Steps

    01

    Plan Installation Location

    • Choose location near water line
    • Ensure adequate clearance from structures
    • Mark center point for drilling
    Continue Gate:Location suitable and marked?
    02

    Turn Off Water Supply

    • Locate main shutoff valve
    • Turn off completely
    • Open lowest faucet to drain pressure
    Continue Gate:Water pressure relieved?
    03

    Drill Mounting Hole

    • Use appropriate hole saw size
    • Drill from outside in
    • Clean up edges and debris
    • Check for any obstructions
    04

    Install Faucet Assembly

    • Insert faucet through hole
    • Secure mounting bracket
    • Connect to water line with proper fittings
    • Ensure proper alignment
    Code notes
    • Backflow protection required at every cross-connection (IPC §608 / UPC §603). For a hose-end fixture: atmospheric vacuum breaker (AVB, ASSE 1001) for non-continuous-pressure, or pressure vacuum breaker (PVB, ASSE 1020) where the valve is upstream.
    • IPC §305.4 / UPC §313: in freezing climates, install a frost-proof faucet or provide an interior shutoff with bleed.
Continue Gate:Faucet secure and properly aligned?
    05

    Test & Seal

    • Turn water back on slowly
    • Check for leaks at all connections
    • Test faucet operation
    • Seal penetration with weatherproof caulk
    Continue Gate:No leaks; faucet working?
    06

    Weatherproof & Maintain

    • Install weatherproof cover if provided
    • Consider backflow preventer if required
    • Test operation in various weather conditions
