Steps
Diagnose the Problem
- Check controller for error codes
- Test each zone manually
- Look for visible leaks or damage
- Note which zones are affected

Turn Off Water Supply
- Locate main shutoff valve
- Turn off completely
- Relieve pressure by running a zone briefly

Repair Leaks & Breaks
- Dig carefully around damaged areas
- Cut out damaged pipe sections
- Install repair couplings or new pipe
- Test joints for leaks

Fix Clogged Heads
- Remove and clean clogged sprinkler heads
- Check for debris in lines
- If a head is damaged: turn off zone, expose riser, unthread old head, and install matching head at proper finished grade
- Apply thread sealant/tape only if required by head/adapter type, then backfill and align nozzle arc
- Adjust spray patterns
