    Steps

    01

    Turn Off Water Supply

    • Locate main outdoor shutoff valve
    • Turn off completely
    • Open outdoor faucets to relieve pressure

    Drain All Outdoor Lines

    • Open all outdoor faucets and spigots
    • Drain sprinkler systems if applicable
    • Remove garden hoses and drain

    Protect Exposed Pipes

    • Wrap exposed pipes with pipe insulation
    • Secure insulation with tape or zip ties
    • Focus on areas near exterior walls

    Install Freeze Caps

    • Install freeze-proof caps on spigots
    • Ensure caps are secure and weather-tight
    • Check for any remaining openings

    Sprinkler System Winterization

    • Blow out system with compressed air if available
    • Drain all zones completely
    • Set controller to "off" or winter mode
