    Scope

    Replace aging washing machine supply hoses with braided stainless steel lines, check the shutoff valves, and leak-test to prevent costly water damage.

    Steps

    01

    Shut Off and Prepare

    • Turn off HOT and COLD valves
    • Run a nearby faucet to relieve pressure
    • Place bucket and towels under connections

    Remove Old Hoses

    • Loosen at valve first; catch water in bucket
    • Loosen at washer ports; inspect threads
    • Remove old washers and clean seats

    Install New Hoses

    • Insert new rubber washers
    • Hand-tighten to washer HOT/COLD ports then snug 1/4 turn
    • Connect to valves; avoid twisting or kinks

    Turn On and Leak Test

    • Open valves slowly while watching joints
    • Wipe connections; check after 5 and 30 minutes
    • Run a quick fill cycle and re-check

    • Add date tag; replace every 5 years
