    Sprinkler Piping Fabrication

When do you have to bevel pipe before welding it for fire protection work?

Any butt-welded joint on Schedule 10 or heavier steel pipe needs a beveled end so the weld can achieve full penetration — typically a 37.5° single-V bevel with a small root face. Roll-grooved or threaded joints do not get beveled; the prep depends on the joining method, not just the pipe.
