Hot Water Distribution
A portion of cold water from the main line goes to your water heater. After heating, it travels through a separate system of hot water lines to fixtures requiring hot water, including hot water faucets, showers, bathtubs, dishwashers, and washing machines for hot cycles.
Safety note
Hot water can cause scalding. Set water heater to 120°F or use anti-scald devices at fixtures.
