    Sediment Trap

    A pipe fitting installed in the gas line before the water heater that collects debris and moisture, preventing it from reaching the gas control valve. Required by many plumbing codes for gas appliances. Typically a tee fitting with a capped vertical leg that allows sediment to settle.
