Gas Line Shutoff Valve
A manual shutoff valve installed on the gas supply line to the water heater, allowing gas flow to be turned off for service or emergencies. Required by code and must be accessible. Typically a quarter-turn ball valve or standard gas valve located within 6 feet of the appliance.
