Well Screen
A slotted or perforated section installed at the bottom of the well casing that allows groundwater to enter while filtering out sand and sediment. Common materials include stainless steel and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Typical slot sizes range from 0.010" to 0.060" depending on soil conditions. Proper sizing balances flow rate and sediment control, helping protect the pump and maintain water quality.
