    COP

Coefficient of Performance — the ratio of useful heat (or cooling) output to electrical energy input, both in the same units. A COP of 3.0 means 3 units of heat are delivered per unit of electricity consumed. Used to compare heat-pump efficiency at specific operating conditions (a single outdoor temperature), whereas HSPF/SEER are seasonal averages.
