HSPF
Heating Seasonal Performance Factor—a measure of heat pump heating efficiency over a typical heating season. Higher HSPF indicates better efficiency. Minimum 8.2 for new heat pumps in northern regions; 8.8+ for northern tier. HSPF2 may be required by current regional code.
