Pressure Regulator Adjustment
Procedure to adjust water pressure regulators for optimal system performance. Essential for maintaining consistent water pressure throughout the property.
Common symptoms
- Water pressure too high or too low
- Inconsistent pressure between fixtures
- Noisy pipes during water use
- Appliances filling slowly or too fast
Common repairs
- Locate pressure regulator near main shutoff
- Loosen locking nut on regulator
- Turn adjustment screw clockwise to increase pressure
- Turn counter-clockwise to decrease pressure
- Monitor with pressure gauge (40-80 psi range)
- Tighten locking nut when desired pressure achieved
