    Variable-Speed Compressor

A compressor whose speed is modulated by an inverter drive rather than running at a fixed RPM. Ramps capacity continuously from ~30% to 100% of rated output, matching building load. Result: longer, gentler run cycles, better dehumidification, lower energy use, and lower noise vs. single-stage compressors. Also called inverter compressor.
